Christmas at the Farthings Hotel

When you are packing, don’t forget the wellies, hat & scarf so that you can take advantage of some lovely crisp countryside walks.  You might also like to bring a good book to read during a lazy afternoon, in front of the log fire.  A pack of cards and some board games might also come in handy!

Christmas Eve

3:30 – Meet for a Welcome with Festive Cocktails, Tea, Home Made Warm Sausage Rolls and Mince Pies.

7pm – Christmas Eve Dinner is served, dinner is four courses consisting of home produced and local seasonal produce, with fresh seafood from West Bay and meat from local butchers with delicious vegan and vegetarian options finishing with a cheese course.
 

Christmas Day

8:30 – 9:15am – Breakfast buffet with cheeses, meats, fresh fruit and pastries is served. Along with tea, coffee, toast and preserves from the kitchen. 

1pm – Christmas Lunch is Served

Amuse Bouche of Cream Cheese and Chive Panna Cotta, Pickled Beetroot and Herb Emulsion

 

Demi-tasse of Wild Mushroom and Tarragon Soup topped with Sour Cream and Croutons

 

West Bay Lobster, Crab and Spring Onion Risotto, Parmesan Crisp, Pea Shoots, Lobster Bisque

 

Breast of Home-Reared Turkey, Wrapped in Streaky Bacon, Stuffed with Sausage, Chestnuts and Herbs, Roast Potatoes and Roasted Roots, Shredded Sprouts with Caraway, Cranberry Sauce, Rich Gravy

 

Brandy Soaked Christmas Pudding with Brandy Cream

5pm – Tea and Christmas cake is served in the bar

8pm – Christmas day celebration buffet is served with tea, Christmas cake and mince pies.

 

 

Boxing Day

8-10am – Breakfast buffet is served alongside eggs Benedict from the kitchen with our own dry cured bacon and home produced eggs.

4pm – Tea is served in the bar with sweet treats.

7pm – Supper is served in the restaurant starting with a tempting amuse bouche, followed by a demi tasse of soup, then a three-course dinner with the option of tasty vegetarian and vegan dishes.
